I hope that you had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday. We are now on the downhill slide to wrap up 2018. Sometime in the next three weeks we will be taking the Reading Inventory (RI) and Math Inventory (MI) which is something that all Cobb elementary students take on the computer. There is nothing to study for this test, and this is not included in the students grades. In Science we have been studying ecosystems - specifically food chains and food webs. We will continue to study them this coming week and will have a test on Friday, 12/8. (Remember, if we ever move a test it will never be moved to an earlier date, only a later date.) After completing this test I hope to return to Social Studies to discuss what happened after the American Revolution. Every fourth grade class in Cobb Schools is scheduled during the year to have a lesson presented by the folks from the Fire Safety Village. This year is no different and they will be coming to our class on Monday, 12/3 and we will get to go to the Village on Monday, 12/10. The highlight of this trip in fourth grade is that students get to drive the "go carts." Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we get to this year. No matter what, there is a lot of time that we will spend outside. Students need to dress accordingly. There is no cost for this trip. If you have not sent in your permission slip, please do so as soon as possible. Speaking of the weather, we are in the middle of crazy Georgia weather. The fourth grade teachers work together and if the temperature is not to cold we make every attempt to let the children go out for recess. However, if they are not dressed appropriately they will stay inside and participate in indoor recess. |
